BIO group was formed in 1990 (spring-summer). After the breakup of the group "Bioconstructor", Alexander Yakovlev invited Oleg Podkovyrov (Kostrov) from an electronic group in Zelenograd, as well as his friend Olga Voskonyan, to join the new project. At the end of the spring 90 with the support of the Studio the Sound was recorded "Tram", "Technoromanticism" (in the tone-House of culture g .Zelenograd) and later, in a private Studio in Moscow (m. "Dobryninsky") - the song "Old lamp", "Telephone robot", "a Demonstration of power machinery" and others. Several tracks were recorded in the personal Studio of A. Yakovlev. And already in the fall of 90, the first album of the BIO group called "Technoromantics" was distributed on reels (tape) throughout the Union.

The album contains songs that are associated with the author's first higher education - radio engineering. Although A.V. Yakovlev recently received a second higher education - he became a master of history, but the love of technology, synthesizers, radio transmission systems remains dominant. The title of the album is associated not only with the type of radio components for which special musical odes were invented, but also with the philosophical understanding of our life - we ourselves constantly accumulate energy and transmit it further.

After a video clip of her performing Avtomobili was shown in the Soviet TV show "Аукцион - Это вы можете" in 1989, the song became a big disco hit. Afterwards the song was aired several times in other broadcasts. More tracks were written and recorded by Yakovlev and Voskonyan for an album that remained unreleased for various reasons. Some of these songs were performed on tour in the late 80's, early 90's. After the separation of "Biokonstruktor", Olga joined Alexander Yakovlev's new group "Био". Until 1996 she was part of the group as a keyboardist and back vocalist. Since 2017 Olga is again doing music with "Bio". A CD "Cars"("Автомобили") with retro synthwave songs was recently released. This is a compilation album of songs by the legendary synth-pop band BIO. Was released in 1993. BIO is a music band that was founded as an electronic project in 90's and it is an example of Russian synth-POP. This band was created by Alexandre Yakovlev in 1990 after "Bioconstructor" broke up, being a band- founder of soviet electronic music. Other members of "Bioconstructor" established a band called "Technology". BIO's sound is well known not only in Russia but in other countries. This band has always been focused on synth-pop sound with philosophical and technocratic texts. A few albums were issued last years: from 2005-2009 BIO's anthology of songs, an MP3 collection with all the songs of the band and best remixes. In 2010 the band recorded and issued a new album "Heroes of mysteries". In 2014 a project "Pioneers" was launched. This album in particular we would like to present in our CD. Here you can find songs that are similar to each other because of the common subject of the disc which is finding ways for our civilizations to enter the space, understanding that in near future it will become possible to step in the nearest planets of the solar system. These songs will remind people how the inner life is connected to the outer world.
