It was around 2012 that we came across a book with translations of the masterpieces of the Spanish poetry of the 20th century. Having studied all the works from top to bottom, we chose a few gems of Juan Ramon Jimenez translated by A. Geleskul. The triplet rhythm and the faded autumnal palette of the imagery of a poem about the continuity of life, in particular, inspired us to wrap the text up in a rhythmic shell of gothic industrial music. We transformed the howling of the wind into the wail of an arcane synth pad, while the footsteps of the inexorable and merciless winter, following in tracks, turned into a four-on-the-floor disco drum.

Masha, a girl, lived in a hut where firewood crackled in the stove. In the evening, when the moon peeked out from behind the clouds, Masha was already tired. Her eyes were sticking together, and her hands were reaching out to her mother. "Mom, Mom, sing me a song!" Masha asked. Mom, tired after a long day, sat on the bed and sang a quiet lullaby. But Masha still couldn't sleep. Then a big, beautiful and fluffy Cat entered the hut. He loved Masha and always knew how to calm her down. "Cat, kitty, sing me a song!" Masha asked. The cat purred softly and rubbed against Masha's hand. His purring was calm and soothing. "Kotenka, Kotok, put me to bed," Masha whispered, closing her eyes. The cat gently laid her on the pillow and lay down next to her. He hugged her with his fluffy paws and purred softly. Masha quickly fell asleep, lulled by the warmth and affection of her wise cat. And the Cat was still sitting next to him, purring a quiet song of sleep and guarding his beloved Masha's dream. And then Masha grew up, started going to cool parties and needed a slightly different lullaby. More invigorating, rather than soothing and lulling.
